This treasure of a Southern recipe is sweet, tangy, mild and comes from my Great Grandma Ella Meredith’s kitchen. Her daughter, Lois, remembers her mother making it in the fall and enjoying it over ham & beans in the wintertime. Chow Chow is also delicious on sandwiches, potatoes, pork, chicken and fish.
